The first Bleeding Heart I purchased was the spring my father in law passed away. It was a way for me to honor him and keep a part of him near where the cemetery was over an hour away.
Bleeding Hearts are beautiful shade loving flowers which flower in the Spring. The flowers can be white, pink, or red. I planted the plant by my wagon wheel to protect it and give it some strength. The bleeding heart plant is a very fragile, delicate plant it is easily broken. Planting it by the wagon wheel gives it something to lean against, block/ buffer the cold of the foundation, and break the wind.
Bleeding heats send out a single flower spikes which the the heart shaped flowers bud and bloom.
Bleeding hearts have many symbolic meanings most Deal with love lost.
I am excited to re-plant more against both of my wagon wheels in my North facing garden.
I chose two different varieties Old Fashion and Valentine.
I am bringing some of my favorites from our former garden to my new flower bed.
