Bringing a tradition to my Home with a Christmas window display

Writer's picture: wildflowersandcastironwildflowersandcastiron

I remember as a kid going to ZCMI and the Ogden Christmas Villageto look at the window displays. They were always such a neat part of Christmas. The little details of elves making toys, Christmas morning, toys, and sweets, and everything under the sun to stir your imagination. Hot chocolate, Christmas music, Santa’s castle, bitter cold or unseasonably warm weather..For those who have not experienced these type of displays below are some pictures.

Who knows what will happen this year, 2020 has been such a roller coaster ride. Will stores make displays or will the Ogden Christmas Villagebe open to walk through? Will it all be virtual?

For those who have not experienced these

Ughhh!!! No virtual is not reality. It is not the same as being there. The sights, smell, and sounds all give you and experience and create feeling that last. When was the last time you said “ the computer or TV show made a happy lasting memory for me.” Yes you may be momentarily happy about your team winning a game, but it is a fleeting moment. It does not make a deep lastin happy memorie. What does this is experiences.

My daughter had the great idea to use the side window by our front door to create our own window display. Here is how it turned out.

display. This is how they turned out.
