Caprese Salad

Caprese salad is a fresh side dish which is easy and works any time of year. It is a great light side dish to compliment almost any meal or can be made into sandwiches.




2 Tomatoes

1 ball Fresh Mozzarella

6 Fresh Basil leaves

Drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Salt

Fresh Ground Pepper

Dried Oregano

Plastic Wrap


Slice the tomatoes and place on a plate. Salt and pepper to taste.

Slice the mozzarella into slices the similar thickness of the tomato slices. Place on top of tomatoes.


Sprinkle mozzarella with dried oregano.


Chiffanode your basil leaves. Chiffanoding is twisting your leaves together and slicing to create ribbons. Place on the mozzarella and drizzle with olive oil.


Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.


Serve cold.
