Cheesy Potato Casserole

This is a the perfect compliment to a ham dinner, in fact it makes a great side dish to any dinner or to take to a pot luck. This is a family favorite.


4 large Potatoes, baked, peeled, and sliced

1 medium Onion, diced

1/2 teaspoon Garlic, minced

1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup

1 cup Sour Cream

1/2 cup Milk

1/4 teaspoon ground Black Pepper

1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder

1/4 Season-All

3 slices of Muenster cheese

2 cups shredded medium Cheddar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 4 large Russet Potatoes in the microwave until cooked. Peel and slice. Place in a casserole dish. While layering the potatoes place the 3 sandwich sliced cheese as the middle layer along with 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese.

Diced a medium onion and place in a pot. Melt Butter and caramelize the onion. Once caramelize, add cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and milk along with seasoning. Mix and bring to simmer over medium heat. Remove from heat and pour over potatoes and cheese. Add additional shredded cheese to the top of casserole.


Place on a cookie sheet and place in the oven.


Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and serve hot. Enjoy!

This can be pre-made ahead of time cooled and stored in the refrigerator. It can be transported to pot luck cold and cooked. If stored overnight it will take 40-45 minutes to cook.
