Cupid’s Target; Answering a dance invitation or A Valentines gift

Writer: wildflowersandcastironwildflowersandcastiron

This was a fun way to respond to my son’s preferences dance invitation from his girlfriend, Her poster said “ I am hunting for a date so I am taking a shot. Are you game for preference? We wanted to stick to the theme she started. However his girlfriend has a lot of food allergies so we started looking for non food related options, there were not many. I suggested a target shaped floral arrangement and a co-worker suggested adding candy arrows.

I think it turned out very cute. I bought the flowers from the grocery store. You don't have to go to a florist shop to find quality flowers they are all around us.

To make buy the following flowers:

1 red Gerber Daisy 1 white Hydrangea

18 red Carnations

24 white Carnations

1 narrow container

Start by cutting the stem on a diagonal and placing the hydrangea in the vase. In the middle if The hydrangea add the gerber daisy. Cut the stem to fit.

Cut the stems of the red carnations and arrange around the outside of the hydrangea in a circle Creating a red border. Repeat using the white carnation.

Finish by adding a candy arrow. My son designed his arrows using a chocolate drops for the tip of the arrow, bamboo skewers for the shafts, and mini candy bars for the fletches of the arrows. He used hot glue to hold them together and shorten the sticks by cutting 3 inches from the sharpened end of the skewer.

This was a fun easy project!!! Maybe try making a cupid’s target for you valentine.
