Dawn’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

I got this recipe from Dawn. Everyone always asks her to make it for our office when we do potlucks


1 1/2 Cups Graham Cracker crumbs

1 1/2 Cups Peanut Butter

2 Cups Powdered Sugar

1/2 Cup Butter, melted

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

12 oz Chocolate Chips

1 Tablespoon Vegetable Shortening


Place graham cracker crumbs and powdered sugar in a bowl. Mix until evenly distribute. Add Peanut Butter, Butter, and Vanilla in to the bowl. Stir mixture until it is mixed.

Grease a 9x13 pan and pat the peanut butter mixture into the bottom.


In a microwave safe bowl place the chocolate chips and shortening. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Remove from the microwave and stir. Return back to the microwave for another 30 seconds and stir again. Continue until melted. When melted pour over peanut butter bar and spread.

Cool until solid. Cut into squares and serve.


My husband suggests that you sprinkle graham cracker crumbs on the bottom of the pan before pressing in the peanut butter mixture. It will keep them from sticking to the pan or your fingers as you eat. I will try this next time.
