Double Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Chocolate is the food of love and when I think of a chocolate treat I think of BROWNIES!


Yummy, dark chocolate chip brownies. Be aware that to make them dark chocolate the brownies have espresso crystals. You can leave them out if you have food or religious restrictions. If you don’t have the restrictions try it!



2 sticks of butter

2 1/4 cups of sugar

1 Tablespoon water

4 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 cup of cocoa powder (Dutched)

1 Tablespoon espresso powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

11.5 oz dark chocolate; optional milk chocolate chips


Grease a 9x13 in. pan. and preheat the oven to 350º.


Mix together the butter, water, and sugar in a pot. Heat in the pot stirring, until the mixture is bubbly and smooth. Remove from heat and add 1/2 the bag of chocolate chips and the dutched cocoa. Stir until the chips are melted and incorporated. Add in the eggs (temper them) and vanilla and beat until smooth.


In a bowl Mix together the salt, baking powder, espresso powder, and flour and add to the butter mixture, mixing until smooth. Pour into a 9x13 greased pan. Stir in the chocolate chips and level. Bake for about 23 to 28 minutes.
