When you think of fall/autumn the colors of , orange, and red are the colors that spring to mind. Fall is not just yellows, reds, and golds. There are purples, chartreuse, pink, white, blue, peach, and burgundy. Rethink your color palette.
As the burgundy, red, and purple leave fade and dry they turn a beautiful light color of pink. I was fortunate to be able to photograph some of these leaves during the fading fall. The pink leave were accompanied by Mountain Snowberries. The landscape had an ethereal and fairy like image as the sun began to set.
What is Mountain Snowberry? The Mountain Snowberry or Utah Snowberry is a beautiful low scrub whose berries are important forage for animals and birds. They are found in high altitude forest. They were used for Medicinal purposes by Native America, but in large amounts can be toxic to humans.
As it’s name implies the shrub has beautiful white berries. It adds variety to fall. They berries I found this year have all been with red leaves that as they fade turn to pink. Yes, pink is a fall color. If you want more information in the Mountain Winterberry follow this link to page 25... https://extension.usu.edu/utahmasternaturalist/files/UMNP_Mountains_Plants_Book_pages.pdf
Otherwise please enjoy some of my favorite fall picture. I call them Ethereal Autumn.
