This cake combines the richness of Chocolate and Guinness to make a wonderful St. Patrick’s treat.
1 cup Butter
1 cup Guinness Stout
4 tablespoons Cocoa
2 cups Flour
2 cups Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 cup Sour Cream
2 Eggs
In a pot melt butter with Guinness and Cocoa. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
In a separate bowl combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda. Pour the chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients and mix. Add sour cream and once incorporated add the two eggs. Finish mixing until all ingredients are incorporated.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour either two round cake pans or a 9 X 13. Pour batter into pans and bake for 30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
Fill with Bailey’s Cream Cheese frosting and frost with Chocolate Truffle Frosting.
