Happy Mother’s (Care Taker’s) Day

Updated: May 11, 2020

To all you Mother’s this day is to celebrate you and all you do. Sometimes it can feel like a thankless job, but know you are loved everyday not just today.

One of my first jobs was at a gas station and we had a group of old farmers which came in daily to sit and drink their coffee every morning. They would get together and talk for about an hour.

I was young and not yet a Mother not even thinking of becoming one yet. It was Mother’s Day and one of the most cantankerous of the farmers brought in a cardboard box of African Violet. He announced to us that he brought the flowers in for all of us because his mother and wife had passed away years ago, but we had become his surrogate mothers by taking care of him each morning.

He thanked us for always smiling and making him feel welcome for making sure he had coffee and that he was feed in the morning.

I learned that day that we all make an impact daily. We may not feel it all the time and it may come even from unexpected places sometime. Mother’s are care taker we love without strings. Remember to extend that beyond those you are directly related too. It will come back in unexpected way.

So again Happy Mother’s Day!!
