Chicken Souvlakia is Greek fast food and it is healthy!

Souvlakia is Greek fast food and it is yummy. It is seasoned meat on a skewer. Why is it Souvlakia you maybe asking yourself?? You may have always thought it was Souvlaki. Well it is, but the plural of Souvlaki in Greek is Souvlakia. I make multiple skewer and you can't just have eat one skewer, so this recipe is for Souvlakia.

2 - 3 Pounds of Chicken, boned and cubed ... You can also use lamb, pork, turkey, beef

1 Cup of Olive Oil

you can mix 1/2 cup Olive Oil with 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil to lighten the flavor and price

1/2 Cup Lemon Juice

1/2 Cup Red Wine Vinegar

1 Tablespoon Oregano

1/2 Tablespoon Salt

1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

1 Teaspoon Greek Seasoning

Fresh Ground Pepper to taste

Cube and bone your meat or use boneless, skinless chicken. Place in a seal able container. Pour the oil, vinegar, and lemon juice over the meat. Sprinkle the seasoning and stir until evenly distributed.

Marinate 24 hours for best flavor. Skewer the meat. If using bamboo skewers soak them for 1 - 2 hours before using to keep them from burning. Grill.

Serve with vegetable skewers, garlic chicken rice, and Greek salad.
