This year has been the strangest yea with all the COVID isolation, riots, anti-everything rhetorics, work on the lawn and basement, June rain, etc I was late on making my new July porch sign. However it is done before the end of the month and as soon as I pulled out the paint my idea came together. It turned out better than I thought.
As I painted the old rustic folk art type of flag developed and I ran with it. It has to be my favorite.
Now it really makes me miss the old Eden July 4ths From my childhood. The quilting bees and quilt raffle, ugly bug contests, bake sales, homemade Root Beer, needle in a haystack, Potato sac races, kids parades with my bike all decorated while people throw candy at us, the baseball games, breakfast at the park, home fireworks, and much much more.
So now it will grace my porch for all the Julys to come.
