Amsinckia Intermedia, Common Fiddleneck, Rancher’s Fireweed

Found Antelope Island State Park, Utah 05/09/2021

This plant can be found in all states West of Rocky Mountains, but it is considered an Arizona native. The sharp little hairs can irritate the skin and cause a rash so don’t touch. The seeds are poisonous and toxic causing irreversible liver damage, liver fibrosis, diarrhea and other symptoms leading to death particularly of cattle which ingest it while grazing.
