Skillet French Toast

French Toast is a tasty way to use bread that would otherwise be thrown away. It is best with older, drying, or possibly stale bread. It is a quick breakfast idea for Sunday and is faster than making waffles.

This recipe serves 4 to 6 adults a total of 12 pieces of thick cut bread.

In a pie pan (it makes it easy to dip the bread)

5 Eggs

1 heaping Teaspoon Brown Sugar

1/4 cup Milk

1 teaspoon Vanilla

Whisk with a fork until well mixed.

Heat you cast iron Skillet and melt 1/2 Tablespoons of butter.

Dip the bread both sides in the egg mixture. Place in heated and buttered skillet. Repeat until you are out of room in the skillet.

Use a spatula to turn. Cook both side to a golden brown.

Serve with butter, syrup, whip cream, berries, etc.
