This year I made a No Sew Banner and a quick sew banner for the 4th of July. They are both great options when you are looking for an easy project to add patriotism to your space. It is your choice which one you choose.
The pros and cons are the No Sew Banner hangs flat and it doubles sided. The quick sew is light and because it is not stiff works well on curved surfaces and moves with the wind.
The quick sew banner is made with the same pennant pattern. The perfect size for small projects and work cubicles is 3 pennants.
Cut 3 Pennants alternating them using he pennant pattern below. Either two stars and one stripe or two stripes and one star.
Cut jute, ribbon, or string 45 inches long.
Take the pennants and fold the top over to create a fold over the top which you can run your jute through. Sew along the edge of each individual pennant. When all three are completed cut the little triangle off each edge.
Tie a hanging loop of each end of your jute. Take one loop and put a booby pin or safety pin on the end. Use this to push the jute through the pocket on the top of your pennant.
Make sure you thread all the pennant to they face the same direction. One completed hang. You can added tassels or beaded garland additionally to the area you decorate.
