Streusel Toppings

I have two different streusel toppings I use . The first is for delicate items and flavors like my sweet potato soufflé, blueberry muffins, and other items. The other is oatmeal based used for rustic hearty items like apple crisp, apple muffins, banana breads, etc,


Either recipe can be used on anything called a crumble or crisp


Delicate and Delicious Streusel


Streusel Topping

1 cup Flour

1 cup Brown Sugar

1/2 stick Butter

1/2 teaspoon Salt

optional 1 cup toasted Pecans

Mix together

Cut in 1/2 cup of cold Butter, cutting to pea size chunks.

Sprinkle over batter small chunks and bake following associated recipe.


Rustic and Hearty Streusel


3/4 cup Brown Sugar

3/4 cup Flour

1 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg

Mix together

Cut in 1/2 cup of cold Butter, cutting to pea size chunks.

1 cup Rolled Oats

1/4 cup melted Butter

Mix together.

Sprinkle over batterleaving small chunks and bake following associated recipe.
