White Capped Stuffed Mushrooms

Updated: Dec 30, 2019

It isn’t until recently that anyone outside of my immediate family has known that I make stuffed mushroom. Why you ask because I wanted to keep them as a special treat and if everyone is always asking for me to bring them it goes from a special treat to a chore. This recipe makes great stuffed mushrooms which are a guaranteed hit, however you may want to keep them a secret so they stay a special treat.

24 large White Button Mushrooms

1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese

2 green onions finely chopped or 2 Tablespoons of Yellow Onion finely chopped

1 cup bread crumbs or toasted bread in small pieces

1/4 cup melted Butter

1/2 teaspoon Salt

1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder

1/8 teaspoon Cajun Seasoning

Wash and clean mushroom. Remove stems and place in food processor along with onion. Finely chop. In a medium bowl add the finely chopped mushroom stems and onion along with the remaining ingredients. Mix together and spoon into the mushroom caps. Mound slightly in the center. Arrange in a buttered shallow baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes in a 325 degree oven. Remove from oven and serve hot.
